This tour is designed for those who love Africa’s ‘Animal King’ – Lions. You will be taken to places where they are most commonly seen and if you are lucky, you may even observe them during their hunt for prey.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara
Depart Arusha in the morning for Lake Manyara National Park game drive. This lush ‘little park’ is situated on the Great Rift Valley and is rich with different wildlife. It’s most famous feature are its unusual ‘tree-climbing lions,’ that like to rest on Acacia branches, six to seven meters above the ground. Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

DAY 2: Lake Manyara – Serengeti
After breakfast head straight to the world’s most famous national park, the Serengeti National Park. ‘Endless Plains’, as the Serengeti was named by the Maasai tribe, provides a home to more than four million different animals, including thousands of Lions. Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

DAY 3: Serengeti
A full day is dedicated for seeking out the world’s second largest cat and the King of the Jungle – the mighty Lion! Serengeti National Park is equivalent to the size of Ireland and there are many spots where lions hang out. Did you know that lions rest and sleep for up to 20 hours per day? Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

DAY 4: Serengeti – Olduvai Gorge – Maasai Boma – Ngorongoro
Spend the whole morning in search for Serengeti Lions and consider yourself extremely lucky, if you get a chance to observe them during a hunt. After lunch drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with optional stops at ‘the cradle of mankind’ as Olduvai Gorge is commonly called and/or visit a colourful Maasai tribal village, where live remains much the same as it did centuries ago. Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

DAY 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After breakfast descend into this astonishing ‘Natural Zoo,’ as the the Ngorongoro Crater is commonly referred as. Abundant with wildlife, you have a high chance of spotting ‘the Big Five,’ which includes lion. the day includes a picnic lunch. In the afternoon return to Arusha town.
