they are most commonly seen and if lucky, even observe them during
their hunt for prey!

DAY 1:
Arusha – Lake Manyara
Depart
Arusha in the morning for Lake Manyara
National Park game drive.
This lush »little park« situated under the Great
Rift Valley, is rich with different wildlife but its most famous
feature are unusual »tree-climbing Lions« resting on
Acacia branches six to seven meters above the ground! Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Tented Camp/Camp
DAY 2: Lake Manyara -
Serengeti
After breakfast head off straight to the
world’s most famous
national park, Serengeti National Park! »Endless
Plains«,
as Serengeti was named by Maasai, provides home to more than four
million of different animals including thousands of Lions! Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Tented Camp/Camp
DAY 3: Serengeti
Another
day is dedicated for seeking out the world’s second largest
cat! Serengeti National Park is equivalent to the size of Ireland
and there are many spots where Lions »hang out«! Did
you know that Lions rest and sleep up to 20 hours per day? Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Tented Camp/Camp
DAY 4: Serengeti – Olduvai
Gorge – Maasai Boma - Ngorongoro
The whole morning
is spent in the last search for Serengeti Lions; consider yourself
extremely lucky if you get a chance to observe them during a hunt!
After lunch, a drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area with optional stop at »the cradle of
mankind« as Olduvai Gorge is also called and/or a colourful
Maasai tribe, who still live the same way as they have for centuries! Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Tented Camp/Camp
DAY 5:
Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After breakfast descend
into the astonishing »Natural Zoo«,
the Ngorongoro Crater, abundant with wildlife and where you will
have a very high chance to spot »the
Big Five«, which
includes also a Lion! Picnic lunch. In the afternoon
return to Arusha town.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE
On 1 January 2006 the following actions from Tanzanian Government came into effect and resulted in the rise of the 2006 price of Searching for Lions Tours:
1) 24-hour government fee to enter Serengeti National Park increased for 70%.
2) Ngorongoro Crater Fee quadrupled and only half-day crater tour is allowed.
In addition, on 1 July 2006 the following actions from Tanzanian Government came into affect and resulted in the additional rise of the 2006 price of all Searching for Lions Tours:
1) 24-hour government fee to enter Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park increased for 40%.
2) Camping Fees for Basic Campsites increased for 50% and 25% for Special Campsites.
3) Vehicle Fees in all National Parks doubled. |
