HIV/AIDS Awareness Projects

One of Pure Afro Travels goals is also to help the local community by spreading the correct information about HIV/AIDS, "the calamity" as the former President of Tanzania, Mr. Benjamin Mkapa, named it.

"The whole society must now wake up and fight together against this calamity. Unless we end this conspiracy of silence, all of us, whole nation, shall perish!" Benjamin Mkapa, former President of Tanzania

Pure Afro Travels is therefore a member of ABCT (AIDS Business Coalition Tanzania), a coalition of Tanzanian employers who have come together to fight HIV/AIDS at the workplace.

Under the initiative of Pure Afro Travels, a 3-day workshop on HIV/AIDS Awareness has been successfully concluded in Arusha in the middle of May 2006 in cooperation of ABCT, TATO and funded by the World Bank. Three of our staff have attended all three days and will receive a certificate of becoming "a Trainer" and spread the knowledge to our employees and also their friends and families.
See report in Tanzanian Daily News newspaper and attached pdf newspaper copy of the article.
